While this Page reflects the
views of the Association
as a whole, the Page originated with,
and is maintained by,
former naval intelligence officers
currently on staff as reporters or
Editorial Staff with
the Association's
National Security Affairs Newstand.
Those reporters and Editors believe,
as clearly reflected in the
still valid policies of the
Teddy Roosevelt Administration,
that one of the primary activities
of U.S. foreign policy
should be the protection
of the lives, liberty and property
of Americans abroad,
from any foreigner who would
wrongfully do harm
to any of the above,
even if, in so protecting,
U.S. action has to be unilateral.
The State Department has long
maintained travel advisories.
Primarily they are posted
in Passport Offices in small print,
and hardly anybody pays attention
to them. They list general reasons
for not visiting a country,
such as civil unrest,
or generic anti-American feelings,
which are often commonplace
throughout history, and which
most people can read about
on our Newstands or
in the American press.
As we said, these advisories
are commonly ignored.
There is a need, we felt,
for something more
as a type of advisory for
American travellers,
a need for more specific data
from USG and non-USG sources,
as to specific countries,
addressed to specific classes
of American traveller,
and giving more detail
as to the reasons for the advisory.
By all means, the Association
advocates reading the
State Department advisories,
but this Page is certainly not here
simply to repeat them.
A Supplement, instead, is needed,
and that supplement is here, and now:
This Page was motivated
in its origination by the
Natalee Holloway case in Aruba
in 2005.
Association Advisories are valid until lifted:
June 21, 2005.
LAST UPDATED December 21, 2005.
Advisory #1: Aruba
We strongly advise on matters
relating to personal safety,
based on specific information
we have received from our sources
on the ground in Aruba
indicating on-going predatory activities
of local males targetting innocent Americans,
against single American females
travelling to Aruba, in part,
as discussed below, because of
its geographic proximity to Venezuela.
On Aruba (95,000 residents)
beautiful beaches predominate
on the west side of the island,
and elsewhere crack houses
predominate, and murders are covered up
by local officials.
Prostitution is legal in Aruba and
constitutes perhaps as much as 70%
of the island's real local GDP,
Traffic laws are not enforced.
Venezuela,
where bodies easily can be dumped,
is 20 minutes away by speedboat
and is run by the anti-American thug
Hugo Chavez. His pals call him
' the worst nightmare
any American could imagine.'
Based on this information,
and other classified information
available to the Association
concerning Dutch officials
and their relatives getting females
drunk and murdering tourists and then,
as acts of the Dutch government,
covering up their crimes,
we strongly advise:
DO NOT GO TO THIS ISLAND
IN YOUR LIFETIME
AND DO NOT PERMIT
YOUR FEMALE DEPENDENTS
TO DO SO.
We are happy to report, as of the last update, that the governors of Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia
have officially joined in our advice, and we urge other American officials and agencies to do so, at least until the
Dutch officials on Aruba bring to permanent justice the Arubans who murdered Natalee Holloway.
